I think however, it should be at least USD 428,- per person per month as a couple to consider retirement in your case.

The problem is, whatever country you retire in that is not yours, you face the risk of being thrown out of it, hence you need to have some contingency plans.
And it should be factored in the amount of money you think you need to retire.

You might be kicked out even from your own country for what reason ever...
civil war, religion, political troubles, natural disasters....

To have some money and to have it dispersed in various banks in various countries is always recommended.

Do not worry for him, he'll make it... :D

Thanks for your replys they have all to some degree been informative hence useful. Its ironic the whole issue almost came to a head at the weekend as a very emotional mother in law tried to entice her daughter back to Vietnam. You kniow all the emotinal blackmail sh*t,i love you and cant cope without you and the classic one@other foreigners who have married live here why cant your husband??Well im glad the call actually came asd it FORCED me to look at the realities and not just the romantic notion of retiring in Vietnam.Well we have collectively decided to stay put in Northern Ireland and the one that really swung is was this.Some-one allusded to the fact that if we had children things would be more expensive especially considering educational costs.Well We do have children a gorgeous 3 year old daughter to be precise and of course her needs HAVE to come first and my wife obviously understands this. And a wise man once told me the second most importand thing you can give your child is a good education and she aint going to get that in VN.So thats that stuck in boring drab Ulster for the next 15 years or so but heck you cant have it all your own way i suppose!!Anyhow thanks again your opinions did have a bearing in my decission as well....

The right decision, Totlanh and indeed, giving a good education to children in Vietnam is not easy, even for well off Vietnamese.

Mr Tudo is highly experienced about Vietnam.
This answer above is an one-liner, but Mr. Tudo should not be misunderstood.

He knows very much about Vietnam, which is basically his second home, also doing business with Vietnam and owns an excellent Vietnamese-only related website.

Unlike many of us here in this forum, Mr. Tudo prefers Vietnam to Thailand. Also his wife is Vietnamese.

I know all about Mr Tudo thanks very much and im afraid i dis-agree bigtime with one of his web-sites(Vietnam brides, which i think he has sold)

Yes, he sold a while ago this VietnamBrides-website. It is still operating with the same design, but the registered owner is somebody else.
I do not think anything is wrong with introduction services however.
You meet people, you cannot meet otherwise in your daily life. Introduction services are fairly common in Asia.

So Yohan you dont think there is a valid argument that young poor Viet girls are willing to marry anyone in order to escape their reality. If this is the case could one not further argue that these poor girls are being exploited by unsrupulous people whose sole intent is to make a profit.

Yohan, it's just not worth even a breath. But thank you. :D

Excuse me moron, when you have verifiable credentials you might gain some feedback . However, thus far you sound like an angry 20 something western female who has no credibility .

Now , when you can disprove what I just said, that will be a first step in the right direction.;

Mr Tudo, firstly i am not a Moron, nor am i a western female. What i am is someone who finds your blatent exploitation of young vunreable Vietnam girls as disgusting.

Start a new thread, or find the one about introduction websites that I'm sure is in the archives somewhere.
Lots of pointless quoting removed from this thread also... no need to quote the last post if you are replying to it... thanks.

... so, where were we, retiring in Vietnam... how much?...

Your argument is totally baseless and it sounds to me like US-feminist propaganda.

To introduce a foreign woman to an US-male requires already considerable legal knowledge, thanks to VAWA-IMBRA and other gender-biased US-regulations.

Still, there are male US-citizens, who are willing to try it out and are willing to pay for that all, and are willing either to bring an Asian woman into the USA, or as this topic suggests, are willing to retire with a Vietnamese woman in HER country.

As far as I know, you are with a Vietnamese woman and you are considering retirement in Vietnam - so how can you argue against any introduction services?

About profit: Are you working for free?

A new thread or to re-activate an old thread about introduction services is a good idea.
I will look for one ...

However introduction services (foreign men with local Asian women) are indeed connected with the question about retirement in Vietnam - this thread is not off topic.

Just look to Thailand: Do you really think, there is no connection between retirement of foreign men and Thai women?

The question: 'Retirement how much in Vietnam?' has a relationship with women and logically also with introduction services.

Retirement in such a region means retirement for foreign men and not for foreign women.
To stay single, without a woman will cost you much less than with a woman in most cases.

Yohan,i met my wife through lifes fate.I have never and never intend to use what you call so politely an introduction service. With the greatest amount of respect to compare my situation to that of one where a man has paid a company to introduce him to A girl is not only insulting it also UTTER BOLLIX!!And you did,nt begin to adress my question BTW.

As suggested by Mandrake, the administrator, I opened a new thread about Introduction Services.
Please let us continue to post our comments regarding this topic over there to avoid mixing up this thread with 2 different subjects.

Thank you!
