Thanks for your replys they have all to some degree been informative hence useful.Its ironic the whole issue almost came to a head at the weekend as a very emotional mother in law tried to entice her daughter back to Vietnam.You kniow all the emotinal blackmail sh*t,i love you and cant cope without you and the classic one@other foreigners who have married live here why cant your husband??Well im glad the call actually came asd it FORCED me to look at the realities and not just the romantic notion of retiring in Vietnam.Well we have collectively decided to stay put in Northern Ireland and the one that really swung is was this.Some-one allusded to the fact that if we had children things would be more expensive especially considering educational costs.Well We do have children a gorgeous 3 year old daughter to be precise and of course her needs HAVE to come first and my wife obviously understands this.And a wise man once told me the second most importand thing you can give your child is a good education and she aint going to get that in VN.So thats that stuck in boring drab Ulster for the next 15 years or so but heck you cant have it all your own way i suppose!!Anyhow thanks again your opinions did have a bearing in my decission as well....

The right decision, Totlanh and indeed, giving a good education to children in Vietnam is not easy, even for well off Vietnamese.

190K isn't much money and certainly not enough to retire on.....anywhere.

Mr Tudo is highly experienced about Vietnam.
This answer above is an one-liner, but Mr. Tudo should not be misunderstood.

He knows very much about Vietnam, which is basically his second home, also doing business with Vietnam and owns an excellent Vietnamese-only related website.

Unlike many of us here in this forum, Mr. Tudo prefers Vietnam to Thailand. Also his wife is Vietnamese.

Yes, he sold a while ago this VietnamBrides-website. It is still operating with the same design, but the registered owner is somebody else.
I do not think anything is wrong with introduction services however.
You meet people, you cannot meet otherwise in your daily life. Introduction services are fairly common in Asia.

So Yohan you dont think there is a valid argument that young poor Viet girls are willing to marry anyone in order to escape their reality.If this is the case could one not further argue that these poor girls are being exploited by unsrupulous people whose sole intent is to make a profit.

Retirement in such a region means retirement for foreign men and not for foreign women.
To stay single, without a woman will cost you much less than with a woman in most cases.
