Welcome to the world of General Than Shwe - nicknamed, in muted whispers, the 'Bulldog'. Alliances in the tight circle surrounding him are oiled by money, influence and business opportunities, including arms and heroin dealing, and defined by paranoia, self-enrichment and astrology.

Burma's military government is accusing the US of inciting the recent pro-democracy demonstrations in a bid to install a puppet government.
"Recent protests in the country were created by the loudmouthed bully, using exiled dissidents and traitors together with communists and internal and external anti-government destructionists."
"The United States has tried to revive the mass uprisings of 1988 in Burma in connivance with exiled dissidents and internal ax-handles in order to install a puppet government".
Ax-handle is jargon used by the junta to mean traitors or puppets.

November 12, 2007 - A portrait of US President George W. Bush was set on fire today in a Burmese junta-organized mass rally in Hnam Kham town of northern Shan state in protest against the US's rhetorical stand on the military generals.
The rally, in support of the junta's National Convention and seven-step Road Map to its so called "disciplined democracy" was organised by the USDA (the junta sponsored civilian organization) chairman of the Hnam Kham Township. During a meeting on November 9, he ordered each village in the township and quarters on the towns to send at least 500 people a piece.

So are they trying to gain support by lumping themselves with other "victimised by America" societies? It's a nice big bandwagon to jump on...but I don't think they will be fooling anybody.
