Hi there,
I am currently wanting to visit to Malaysia. I was told that there is a 3 months multiple visa applicable. My question is how can I go about this with what types of documentations?
If I want to visit Singapore as well during my stay in Malaysia, how can I go about it?
Please help...

As Bluecat has already noted, it very much depends on where you come from- your nationality, not point of departure prior to arriving in Malaysia. But coming from a "suspect" country (and this varies from time to time and from nation to nation) might conceivably create some delays.
As an Australian it's as simple as me showing my passport at Arrivals in Changi Airport and I'm let in.
I usually get the train from Singers to KL. This requires a passport check at the border in JB, but the last two times I went across (2001 and 2003) my passport wasn't even checked. No stamp to say when I'd arrived in Malaysia or anything. I kept my train ticket as proof of date of entry just in case. I think the Customs staff must have been off for a smoko or morning prayers at the time.
Coming back in from Malaysia, I've just shown my passport, the Customs people have taken only the most cursory of glances at my baggage (note: suitcases not a grotty backpack) and I've been welcomed back in.
Being white, middle aged and decdently dressed may have something to do with it, as I doubt I fit any of their target profiles- not that such things exist (at least no OFFICIALLY).
