Official page of the Malaysian Monarchy, with pictures of all 13 kings and queens so far, mostly in Malay, but there are some English explications.

In Malaysia, the King is elected every 5 years out of the Royal Families of these 9 Federal States,
Johor, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Perlis, Terengganu, Kedah, Perak and Kelantan.

You might follow these links above to webpages of the Royal Families in Malaysia. For example:

Some of these pictures are very colorful, and related to Islam show a totally different culture compared to the Monarchy of Thailand.

I've always liked Malaysia very much. In my early years in South East Asia I wanted to teach English there, but I had no qualifications, so Thailand I remained. Some travelers I met then were down on Malaysia because it wasn't as flashy (fleshy? ) as Thailand, or seemed boring to them compared to Thailand. In my opinion it has a rustic charm and sensible order that I like. I miss Penang especially.
