I'm putting together some static content for Malaysia and I'm interested to hear from those that have spent time there (or are about to ) that can make a basic list of costs, perhaps even some comparisons with Thailand and Singapore. I'm particularly interested in accommodation costs in various cities/areas, especially KL... although the standard expat costs are very interesting i.e. school fees, maids, vehicle etc etc...

Today's forcast is that there is a 75% chance that I'll move to KL in September...

Spend a week in KL long time ago.All i can remember was the beer and other alcoholic beverages are way too expensive.Maybe because of "sin tax".
Taxi fares and eating from food stalls is slightly expensive from Thailand, but still cheap.
