The Extent of One Woman Brothels in Hong Kong Legal prostitution in Hong Kong

This post might surprise a few people. Traditionally, places like the Philippines and Thailand endure sordid reputations for allegedly having a brothel on every street corner. Of course, it you've ever set foot in either of those countries, you'll know such a notion is ridiculous...

However, lets focus on Hong Kong. There are a few articles on this website about working girls in Hong Kong, but there's not yet been anything posted about the so called 'one woman brothels'. Prostitution is actually legal in Hong Kong. However, organised prostitution is illegal, leading to a large number of girls working out of small apartments all over the territory. Whether or not they actually live there full time aside, clusters of these girls can be found in many buildings, usually on the first or second floor, making it easy for customers to walk in from street level. There may also be a sign in Chinese advertising the fact girls are available...

When I lived in North Point on Hong Kong Island, I lived in a block with 14 floors, containing families etc etc. The second floor however, was exclusively prostitues working out of their single room apartments. They advertise on local websites, the most famous being sex141.com (the link is not really work safe BTW). At the time of writing, that website is actually the 34th most popular in Hong Kong according to Alexa. The building I stayed at is listed on that website BTW.

They may be local Hong Kong girls, or Mainland Chinese. Very rarely are they Thai or Filipina. They are sometimes pimped by their boyfriends, be students making money on the side, or they may be part of an organised triad gang that rents entire rows of apartments to install girls in order to avoid legal restrictions on the trade...

The sort of prices being charged by the girls are on a par with those charged by women in Thailand that target foreigners in that country, and some people may be surprised by that, considering the relative affluence of this former British colony... Although a grey area, it's technically legal, and in Hong Kong, there is prostitution in various forms, in many areas, with red light districts in places like Mong Kok, TST and Wan Chai...

And to think, it's Thailand that has the reputation. Pffft.

This is not so much different in Japan. The rule says, age limit is 18+, it must be done away from public area in your private rooms only, and this activity must not be seen from the street, and no approaching of customers or advertisement in a public area, off limit near hospitals, schools and embassies etc., room must have toilet/shower inside etc.

Basically in your own rooms you can do that if you like, and nobody cares.

lol, let people think what they want, because it's how they protect themselves inside their own little fantasy/bubble.

It's like the CCP's desire to rid Chinese internet of porn, and their attempt to get rid of anything "yellow" to "protect" the children. :whistling:

"The green dam blocks pictures of little piggies!"

NO Food p0rn for you, China! :bleh:
