I get confused ! :help:

only recently there was some news that King has rejected Surayud as a candidate - and now it seems like army reject King's rejection ?

despite reports that HMK has expressed his opinion against that:

king rejects junta's choice

No idea, who actually is ruling Thailand...my guess is, that there is nobody yet found, who can be considered to be the leader...

In Thai history this situation was quite frequently, some politicians are coming, some are going...

Generally, as we see, Thailand continues business as usual. Ordinary Thai people have no much influence in politics and do not care too much about it.

What an appropriate thread to resurrect at this time...

Whether or not this was historically the case is up for debate, but it's certainly not the case now. The urban elites i.e. the minority with the chauffeurs, daily trips to the high end malls, new Mercedes every year, spoiled brat children that think they're above the law (and they are in practice)... are they *just* starting to lose control? Thailand has been living a lie, and the suggestion it's fundamentally a peaceful, harmonious country with a compliant rural poor, sure looks like farce this week...

So indeed, just who is in control of Thailand right now? The bubble they've been living in is crumbling faster than the footpaths.
