East Coast Apartments
The East Coast district of Singapore, covering districts 15 and 16, is by far a favourite with expatriates, with an array of accommodation to choose from. The reasons for this are numerous but cheifly because of the East coast park, where you can enjoy walks and excercise activities such as cycling, canoeing, roller blading, picnics etc, the nearby beach and the plethora of restaurants. The airport is also very nearby (only 10 or 15 minutes).
Expatriates choose to live here because it has a feeling that it is somehow removed from the fast pace of city life. Apartments may come with sea views and even without a sea view, the sea is not far away for you to enjoy. Pebble bay, for example, has jogging and rollerblading tracks
Joo Chiat Road ans Geyland Road in sleepy Katong suburb has shops with good value clothing, antiques and kitchenware etc. Around some areas you'll find hawker street stalls and cafes and more modern shopping facilities, like those at Parkway Parade.
