The aim of this website is to provide practical and cultural information to expatriates already living in Taiwan, to help those interested in moving here, or simply for a shorter business trip or holiday.
It's never an easy decision to uproot yourself and/or you family and move to a new country, possibly along with a career change. Use this website to learn about what you're letting yourself in for. We are an expatriate community who's membership comprises of people with a vast and diverse knowledge of living in Taiwan and Asia as a whole.
Culturally, Taiwan is a remarkable blend of Confucianist Han Chinese, Japanese, Western values and cultures and there is a distinct sense of Taiwanese identity.
Expatriates are employed in a range of industries. Taiwan is dynamic export driven economy with major manufacturing being laptop computers, semiconductors etc. Native English teachers are also in demand.
