Idiot Westerners who think all Thai girls are on the game

Recent years have seen cheap airfares to Asian destinations and as a result, the sort of lout who would ordinarily confine his drunken advances on women to Mediterranean party towns in Greece or Spain, now finds himself in a position to fly out East to Thailand, where he can indulge his fantasies with the sultry Asian girls he's heard so much about in the tea room from his work mates over a roll up and a Ginsters.
However, unlike the slappers from Europe (read 'England') who welcome the 'hand up skirt' method of courtship, this sort of behavior is usually most unwelcome but the sort of meat heads we're talking about here wouldn't have the cultural capacity to even acknowledge that fact, instead preferring the assumption that 'All Thai girls are up for it for a little cash'.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, many Western men wind up in hot water for making unwelcome physical advances on innocent young Thai girls that are mistaken for prostitutes and the police are often involved. Perhaps even sexual assault charges are initiated.
Take the case of Mr James, an Irishman who while on Holiday in Pattaya recently, foolishly and without any attempt at finesse (and while walking around bare chested and drunk) thrust his hand up the dress of a girl who was passing by and groped her. Unfortunately for Mr James, she was not on the game as he had assumed and the young Thai student he accosted called the police to have him arrested.
After a few minutes of ranting and raving that all Thai girls were hookers, The Irish fool was taken away by the police.
This sort of thing happens day in, day out in Thailand, especially in tourist hot spots like Pattaya but most of these incidents go unnoticed and unreported, just part of the mix. Just days after the aforementioned incident, police were called to a fast food restaurant on Pattaya Beach Road, where a Belgian idiot had fondled a young woman, who was none too pleased about it.
To make matters worse, the Belgian (Mr Gress Vanham, aged 38) lost control of his temper when his advances were rejected, became abusive and tried to hit the woman. Naturally, he was arrested and taken away for questioning by the police. Once again, he failed to see what he had done wrong, claiming that it was acceptable behavior in Thailand. He was expected to be charged with assault and indecency.
In view of such behavior, is it any wonder that Westerners gain a bad reputation. Lets hope for the good of everyone in Thailand, both the Thais themselves and for decent, civilized farangs that losers like this are excluded from entering Thailand permanently.
